Lowell Area Schools Technology Department Practices/Guidelines Personally-Owned Equipment

Staff, students or outside vendors who bring their personally-owned equipment to school are responsible for the equipment. Responsibility for maintenance, repair, security, software licensing and current virus protection rests solely with the staff or student, including installation of software and configuration of peripherals. Any damage to the equipment, including results from viruses, is the responsibility of the individual. Violations can constitute cause for revocation of access privileges, suspension of use of personally-owned computer in district facilities, other district disciplinary actions and/or appropriate legal action. Exact disciplinary measures will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Outside Party Presentations Prior arrangements must be made with the Technology Department if network access is required.
