Chromebooks

All LAS Chromebook must be logged into using your lowelleducation.com account. You cannot login to a chromebook using a normal '<username>@gmail.com' login

Connect to LAS WiFi

To use a Chromebook OFFLINE

(no wifi connection)(These steps should be completed before going offline)

  1. You must first login here at LAS to the chromebook you will be using offline. (This is mandatory for use offline as it sets up your local profile)
  2. For Google docs, Before going offline, you must first enable offline access on the chromebook you will be using. To do this, go to Google Drive, click the Gear icon and select Settings. Check the box to Enable Offline if needed and wait for all Google Drive items to sync.
  3. If prompted, Click “Add Google Docs Offline extension” when prompted.
  4. You can now use the chromebook offline. When logging in offline, you will first see a page with a dinosaur that says 'Network not available' and your Wi-Fi status will look like FIGURE 1 . You need to click below there on the 'Sign in as an existing user' (remember to use the standard format of <userID>@lowelleducation.com. Note: You must repeat all these steps each time you wish to use Chromebook offline.
  5. To re-sync any offline documents, emails, etc - you must connect to the LAS network on the same chromebook when you return to school. It is recommend to re-open your newly edited documents and offline emails to force syncing to the Google Cloud.

  2. Select your network status from the menu that appears.
  3. Detected networks automatically show up in the menu. To connect to a network, simply select its name and supply any passwords or setup information that the non-LAS Wi-Fi requires. (These setting vary from one network to another - please see the owner or admin of the wifi for assistance)
  4. Once a Wi-Fi connection is established, you can login as normal. (remember to use the standard format of <userID>@lowelleducation.com.)
