Login to LAS network (Novell)
At this point we are assuming that you have signed the Acceptable Use Agreement (AUP) and your account has been created.
Login:
- Turn on computer (CPU and monitor).
- At the network login prompt, type your login id (this is your first initial followed by your last name).
- Press the tab key and enter your password.
- Congratulations, you are connected to the network!! (This will allow you to access your home directory, network drives, print, and access the internet. If your login did not work, please use a neighbor's computer to fill out a technology request.
- You will find your H: drive (Home drive) under “My computer” or “My Documents” points to your personal network drive. Things you put in here are on a server and get backed up each night. Do not save files on your Desktop of on the C: drive; computers are subject to imaging at anytime which will result in documents saved there to be deleted.
LAS Applications:
- On your desktop locate “Lowell Staff Applications” and double click it.
- Under the LHS tree icon, select Applications. This will allow you to have access to all the applications available to you from the network.
*You may need to change the view of your screen by selecting View and then choose the view you prefer. Large icons is the easiest to view.
*Note: All students must fill out a LAS Acceptable Use Agreement before accessing the network or Internet. DO NOT ALLOW STUDENTS TO LOGIN UNDER A STAFF LOGIN. This may result in both accounts being disabled.*
It is extremely important that you know what your students are doing. We do have an internet filter, but it is still your responsibility to monitor your students surfing. Remember students should not be checking their personal e-mail accounts from Lowell Area Schools’ computer network.
